  Three people on trial for the alleged murder of a 400-level Lagos State University (LASU) student, Favour Daley-Oladele, have been remanded in prison. The trio – a prophet, Segun Philip; a woman, Bola Adeeko; and her son, Owolabi Adeeko – were on Friday arraigned before an Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital over the murder. The prosecutor from the Ministry of Justice, Kemi Bello, had brought the suspects before the court on two counts of conspiracy and murder. The charge was not read for the three accused persons and they did not have counsel. The presiding Judge, Justice Grace Onibokun adjourned the matter to March 3rd and 10th, 2021 for hearing and ordered they should be remanded in a Correctional Facility.    The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Edward Ajogun, on Tuesday, disclosed that he and his men employed technology to smoke out alleged serial killer and drug addict, Feyisola Dosumu, from a dungeon and shot him dead. Ajogun said the command employed technology to fish out the suspect when it became difficult to apprehend him where he hid in the bush. Dosumu, aka Spartan, had been declared wanted by the police. He had reportedly killed no fewer than seven people in Ogere and Iperu-Remo, in the Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State. The suspect was shot dead by joint security forces in Ogere on Tuesday. Ajogun explained that the suspect was killed in his dungeon built in the bush in the Ogere area, after two days of operations. ‌   The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, on Tuesday, paraded a commercial boat helmsman, Bimbo Elebiju, for allegedly causing the death of 12 of his passengers while conveying them to their destinations. The victims were said to have drowned after the wave of a ship sailing along the Kirikiri waterfront made the boat, which engine had been switched off during an argument between Bimbo and his passengers over the fare, to capsize. Odumosu, while parading Bimbo at the command headquarters in Ikeja, said 20 passengers boarded the boat from Kirikiri to Badagry, but while on the way, the passengers disagreed with the helmsman on the fare. Odumosu said Bimbo indicated that the fare was N1,500, but the passengers insisted on paying N1,200, adding that the helmsman switched off the engine of the boat by the waterfront because of the N300 difference in fare.    Lance Corporal Ajayi Kayode, a serving military personnel in Lagos State, has been arrested for alleged Internet fraud.  Kayode was arrested in the Lekki axis of the state by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.      Ajayi Kayode The soldier, who was arrested alongside 26 others, said he was still learning "yahoo yahoo" (Internet fraud) from his friends when he was nabbed.  He confessed that his friends, who were teaching him, had told him that cybercrime was the best way to make quick money hence his involvement. EFCC spokesperson, Mr Dele Oyewale, disclosed the arrest of Kayode in a statement on Monday.  He said Kayode with service number NAF18/34732, was arrested on Saturday following intelligence received from concerned members of the public about his alleged involvement in criminal activities.   A 34 -year-old man, John Otema,  has been sentenced to 50 years imprisonment by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, for raping a 19-year-old student of UNILAG on campus. Otema, a UNILAG graduate, was charged before Justice Abiola Soladoye with three counts of rape and assault occasioning harm on two female students.   He was found guilty on two-counts of rape and assault occasioning harm in respect of the rape of the 19-year-old student.   He was therefore sentenced to 50-years in prison for the rape and three-years in prison for the assault with both sentences to run concurrently.

The robbery suspect was reported to have been arrested this afternoon by men of Rapid Response Squad who were on patrol at Iyana Ipaja after the victim raised an alarm and informed the security personnel on sighting the robbery suspect. The police officers apprehended Yusuf after chasing him down and was reported to have offered bribe to the police officers to secure his release which they rejected. The suspect has however been taken to Ipaja Police Station for further investigation.

A dreaded armed robber, Adekunle Bello, who was arrested by Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) at Bariga, Lagos, described himself as a killer, armed robber, and kidnapper has narrated his success story in the crime world. The Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, has ordered an investigation into a viral video showing some police officers in Ibadan, Oyo state harassing a female suspect.   The officers had gone to the home of a suspected kidnapper and armed robber to arrest him and there they met the 25-year-old lady who gave her name as Towobola.   The policemen, after taking the kidnap suspect away, faced Towobola, handcuffed her and accused her of sleeping with the alleged kidnapper.   One of the police officers who identified himself as ‘Wyclef’, brought out his phone and started to film the Tobowola as he asked her questions about her sex life.   Wyclef in the video mocked Towobola, telling her that young ladies are fond of dating men with questionable wealth which often lands them in trouble.
