A renowned clergy, motivational speaker and prolific writer, Pastor Emmanuel Obu, has launched another inspirational book, "Unveiling the Path to Success."  The latest masterpiece was launched on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at 2:00 PM (WAT) via Google meet in an event that drew participants from across the globe.  The virtual event saw attendees predominantly from Nigeria, from as far as Australia, as well as the US, Canada, and the UK. Mr. Kenneth Erikume, Tax Partner at PwC, led the launch, highlighting the meticulous organization and dedication of Pastor Obu, noting, "He just can't stop writing."  Erikume's commendations set a positive tone for the event, reflecting the admiration many hold for the prolific author.     A Sharia court in Kano State has sentenced a musician, Yahaya Sharif Aminu, to death for one of his songs alleged to be blasphemous against Prophet Muhammad. At the court on Monday, the presiding judge, Khadi Aliyu Muhammad Kani, found Aminu guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging, Daily Trust reports. The musician is said to be a member of the Islamic Tijjaniya sect and Faidha group. Aminu was arrested after a protest by Muslims in the state where they threatened to take laws into their hands. The angry youth had earlier set ablaze the family house of the musician in Kano municipality. This comes weeks after a humanist, Mubarak Bala, was arrested by the police in Kano and issued death threats over a Facebook post said to be blasphemous against Prophet Muhammad. His whereabouts remain unknown despite a court order mandating the police to release Bala.

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has said it will not reopen its churches in Lagos and Ogun states, despite the federal and state governments allowing for worship centres to reopen. The ministry, in a statement by the Chairman, MFM Media Committee, Pastor Oladele Bank-Olemoh, on Friday, noted that the church would not reopen in the two states until the tentative date of September 13, 2020. Bank-Olemoh said, “The leadership of this ministry is aware that the governments of Lagos and Ogun states had announced that churches could resume worship in their physical church buildings as from August 9 and 16, 2020, respectively. “However, the leadership of MFM hereby states as follows: MFM will not reopen all her regions, zones, branches and facilities in Lagos and Ogun states for now. A popular Islamic scholar, Alfa Ahmad Al-Fulanny, has urged religious scholars to start preaching and practicing act that will help the needy, especially during the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the globe. Al-Fulanny, as popularly known for sharing gifts on television during Ramadan, said most people taking to crime or suicide are doing it because they are in need and help is not coming forth from family and friends.
