Convicted controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has admitted to being a male during his appearance at the Federal High Court in Lagos State, on Friday. Justice Abimbola Awogboro sentenced him to six months imprisonment without the option of a fine for abusing the naira. Before the sentence, the judge asked about his gender, and he quickly replied that he was a man. When the judge asked, “Are you a man or a woman?” Bobrisky responded, “I am a man.” Awogboro said the judgment would be a deterrent to others who are found abusing and mutilating the naira. The judge ruled that the jail term commenced on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.
The Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, has ordered an investigation into a viral video showing some police officers in Ibadan, Oyo state harassing a female suspect. The officers had gone to the home of a suspected kidnapper and armed robber to arrest him and there they met the 25-year-old lady who gave her name as Towobola. The policemen, after taking the kidnap suspect away, faced Towobola, handcuffed her and accused her of sleeping with the alleged kidnapper. One of the police officers who identified himself as ‘Wyclef’, brought out his phone and started to film the Tobowola as he asked her questions about her sex life. Wyclef in the video mocked Towobola, telling her that young ladies are fond of dating men with questionable wealth which often lands them in trouble. Controversial cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, will be arraigned today by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before the Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged money laundering and naira abuse. EFCC, on Thursday, filed six counts while counts bordering on money laundering and abuse of the naira on Bobrisky. Bobrisky will be arraigned before the vacation judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro. In the charge sheet filed by EFCC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), alongside seven other lawyers, Bobrisky in the first count was alleged to have tampered with the sum of N400,000 by spraying the same while dancing at a social event at the IMAX Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos. The commission said the offence was committed on March 24, 2024. Bobrisky was also alleged to have between July and August 2023 at Aja Junction, Ikorodu tampered with another sum of N50,000 by spraying same at a social event while dancing. A dreaded armed robber, Adekunle Bello, who was arrested by Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) at Bariga, Lagos, described himself as a killer, armed robber, and kidnapper has narrated his success story in the crime world.
